Roberto Fabbri
Born in Rome in 1964, Roberto Fabbri is a concert performer, composer, author, and educator. He graduated with top marks in guitar studies from the “S. Cecilia” Music Conservatory in Rome.
Internationally recognized as one of the leading exponents of contemporary classical guitar, Fabbri has always combined his concert career with a prominent publishing activity, collaborating with numerous publishing houses (Anthropos, Berben, Playgame, EMR, Warner Bros, Carisch, Music Sales, Hal Leonard). His more than 30 guitar publications have been translated into five languages, including Chinese, and are distributed worldwide by the prestigious Italian publishing house Carisch. He regularly gives concerts and masterclasses, alongside prestigious names from the international guitar scene, at major guitar festivals and in the most renowned concert halls across Europe, the United States, South America, Russia, and Asia. He is an official representative of the prestigious Ramirez lutherie.
In February 2009, he opened as a soloist at an Ennio Morricone concert at the Belgrade Arena (20,000 seats).
In 2010, he became the first and only Italian guitarist-composer to receive the prestigious “Socio de Honor” award at the “Festival Internacional Andrés Segovia” in Madrid, as well as the “Premio Speciale Didattica 2010” from Carisch publishing house for selling over 150,000 copies of his books. Roberto Fabbri has established himself as the only Italian guitarist who has succeeded in making his guitar methodology known, appreciated, and used worldwide, particularly in Spain, the country that best represents the six-stringed instrument.
In 2010, his solo CD Beyond was released by “Bollettino Edizioni Musicali” for EGEA Music, containing 14 of his compositions and 6 transcriptions of works by Giovanni Allevi. The album achieved significant success, bringing the sounds of classical guitar to the attention of a broader audience. He has been invited numerous times as a concert performer on national television networks RAI and Mediaset.
In 2011, his second album, No Words, was released, again produced by Bollettino Edizioni Musicali for Egea Music. It was presented in concert on January 7, 2012, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome (sold out). On November 6, 2012, his third album, Nei tuoi occhi, was released, for which the artist signed a contract with Sony Classical (distributed by Sony Music in Italy and worldwide) under a license from Bollettino Edizioni Musicali. Thus, he joined the exclusive group of Sony’s classical guitarists, including Julian Bream, John Williams, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, and Sharon Isbin.
On the occasion of the XXVI Festival Internacional Andrés Segovia in Madrid on October 26, 2012 (with Prince Felipe de Asturias as honorary president), Roberto Fabbri was commissioned to write a guitar and orchestra concert piece for the 25th anniversary of the death of the greatest classical guitarist of all time. His composition Fantasia sin palabras is featured on his latest album Nei tuoi occhi.
The most authoritative American music magazine, Soundboard, wrote about Roberto Fabbri:
“He is brilliant and technically dazzling, certainly a pleasure for the audience. His compositions range from shamelessly beautiful to highly exuberant and fiery, often with a pop sensibility.”
He is the artistic director of the “Novamusica & Arte” Academy in Rome, which he founded in 1986, and the “Fiuggi International Guitar Festival” since 2007. He teaches classical guitar at the “G. Braga” Music Conservatory in Teramo and at the Institute of Higher Artistic and Musical Education “Giulio Briccialdi” in Terni.

The artist takes the listener on a journey through the world of the guitar, presenting his original compositions that span various styles, from classical to jazz, from Bossa Nova to Latin American. These works are characterized by their fresh and captivating thematic lines, capable of impressing upon the first listen.
The guitar used is semi-acoustic, capable of merging the variety of colors present in the proposed repertoire, proving to be the perfect companion for this journey through the emotions of a life dedicated to music, in line with a coherent artistic path.
The pieces contained on the album Dentro di me represent a journey into memories, a transposition of the most intimate and pure sensations of my being into music, reflecting a unique life path.
The music on this album is sincere, laying bare emotions, fears, melancholy, joy, and the ability to consciously embrace what has been and what has strengthened my existence, thus shaping my way of being in the world with coherence and honesty, in the awareness that the most intimate truth strengthens our lives. What speaks of us represents us truthfully, like giving color and shape to the truest feelings.
The compositions on this work do not have a specific stylistic label; they represent a colorful universe of influences that have shaped my approach to music itself, without any barriers. The result is an album of original compositions where the melody and compositional concept behind the writing are designed to take the listener on a pleasant journey through diverse sounds, born of creativity and personal inspiration—sometimes introspective, sometimes light, but always sincere in every sense.
